Some examples of web software, you most likely know: your email reader (Gmail, Yahoo …), the maps application (StreetMap, Google Maps) and many others.

You can use them from a web site, that means they can be used from any kind of device connected to internet (computer, tablet, smartphone) from your company office as well as from home or from an hotel while away.
On another hand, all data is registered on web server, which is backed up regularly. Moreover; this server is constantly monitored and is repaired immediately, if a failure should happen.
